In 2005, Buzzi Unicem USA began an expansion project at the Festus, MO cement plant.  Called the River 7000 Project, the new plant is being built right next to the existing plant and will integrate certain portions of the old plant into the new operations.  When the River 7000 project comes online in 2009, it will increase the existing capacity of the old plant by more than one million tons per year.
