The Buzzi Unicem group’s 2007 Sustainability Report presents the social , environmental, and economic performance associated with the group’s activities in the various countries where it is active. It follows the approach established during the last few years.
The Report’s structure and contents are based on a rationale of continuity and ongoing refinement. The 2007 Report in fact features expansion of reporting scope for some environmental aspects concerning concrete production and enhancement of the reporting system via preparation of a specific Sustainability reporting package to gather data in the various countries.

Process
Our 2007 Sustainability Report is the result of a structured process performed by a task force set up at corporate HQ level and formed by all functions representing a cross-section of all areas connected with the group’s social, environmental, and economic reporting, working without the aid of outside advisors. Starting in November, the task force defined the information approach to be used (the Sustainability reporting package) and the key country contacts to be involved for data gathering. The reporting packages received by individual area managers of Italian and international companies were then collected and consolidated by task force members for their respective areas of responsibility.

Guidelines
The Sustainability Report 2007 has been drawn up based on the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines Version 3.0 (G3) of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and meets the content requirements of Application Level B +. Reference has also been made to the guidelines established by the Social Report Study group (GBS) with regard to aspects relating to the calculation and distribution of the added value.
